2017 has been a milestone year for The Grand Brighton, as it further asserts its independent voice amongst Britain’s leading destination hotels.
The property has attracted an unrivalled roster of major corporate clients who have used the venue for events, award ceremonies and brand activations.
2017 saw major restoration of its famous Victorian exterior which will result in new windows, balconies and rendering for the famed 153 year old seafront façade. Set to reveal in 2018, this ambitious total restoration project will help to further establish the hotel as one of Brighton’s most iconic landmarks. The hotel’s interiors have also received investment through a soft refurbishment programme of 105 bedrooms and all guest rooms benefitted from air conditioning installation.
Underlining the hotel’s spirit of independence, the front-of-house team were attired in eclectic new uniforms from design led tailor Gresham Blake who is famous for creating designs for the likes of Plan B, Rag'n'Bone Man and Ray Winstone to name a few. The reimagined Victoria Bar, Lounge and Terrace draws on the hotel’s heritage and has created a new scene for Brighton’s foodies with afternoon tea and cocktails headlining amongst local critics. Retention within the hotel’s team is also at an all time high, as is customer satisfaction for both weekenders and the valued corporate guests.
Being part of the city’s cultural legacy is at the heart of the hotel’s ethos; and this year saw fundraising success with over £55,000 raised for local children’s charity, Rockinghorse. The hotel is also taking lead sponsorship of the popular Brighton Half Marathon. The three-year deal will see the race renamed as The Grand Brighton Half Marathon and will ensure additional funds are raised for local charities.
As 2017 draws to a close, the hotel is celebrating accolades for ‘The Warmest Welcome’ and ‘Manager of the Year’, with each award reinforcing the independent and entrepreneurial business overseen by Andrew Mosley.
