BBC stars to headline at The Grand Brighton Half Marathon
With less than a month to go until The Grand Brighton Half Marathon on Sunday 25 February, The Grand Brighton has revealed that its headline act performing on the day will be none other than Brighton-based pop trio, The Sundaes.
Having debuted as part of the BBC’s brand new Saturday night show, ‘All Together Now’, The Sundaes will take to the Brighton and Hove Community stage outside The Grand Brighton Hotel, entertaining racegoers from 10.15am.
Compered by Jennie Castell, who will also perform current chart topping tunes, the stage will also play host to a number of local acts including:
The Savoy Kicks , who will be performing a traditional Charleston dance routine as well as teaching a few moves to spectators.
Marta Scott Dance Company, an all-inclusive and diverse dance group, will bring a carnival atmosphere to inspire the runners on to the finish line.
In their first year as headline sponsors, the Grand Brighton has entered a team of five runners as well as a corporate relay team who will run the full half marathon between them, with all proceeds going to Brighton-based charity The Sussex Beacon, who organise the race.
The Grand Brighton Half Marathon organiser, David Hill comments: “We are so excited for this year’s marathon day with new headline sponsors, The Grand Brighton.
Andrew Mosley, general manager at The Grand Brighton, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming The Sundaes as our headline act on what is set to be a fantastic day! The Grand Brighton Half Marathon is one of the most popular in the UK and we’re so excited to kick off our first year as headline sponsors with such a lively and talented line-up.”
Entertainment starts from 9.45am - 12pm outside the front of the hotel.
