Real Weddings - Suria & Paige's idyllically intimate wedding

Finding 'The One'...

Finding an intimate wedding venue which incorporated their personal style was the priority for Suria & Paige - and for them The Grand ticked all the boxes...

When we decided we wanted an intimate wedding we both agreed that we we'd like the style to be classic and effortless. I think those two words describe The Grand perfectly, so it was a 'no brainer' when we found out the hotel was licenced for wedding ceremonies - it truly met all our criteria

Keeping their styling choices low-key and relaxed ensured Suria & Paige could enjoy their day to the full...

We sourced everything together and very much made our own rules for the day, following few traditions. So there was no "keeping the dresses a secret" but instead we picked them together. Paige's was the first one she tried on, and it needed no alterations. Mine was the second I tried and cost £20!

We both did our own hair, Paige doesn't wear makeup so she literally only had eyelash extensions and bronzer. I had mine done by a brilliant make up artist at MAC - he looked like he was going to cry when I casually told him I was getting married in an hour, hadn't had a trial and just wanted him to do whatever he liked!

We found our photographers Inbetween Days via Instagram, and no words can do them justice, they're incredible photographers and generally amazing ladies.

For us the priority was to keep things simple, allowing us to be relaxed and stress free and just enjoy the day. It was everything we wanted - a seamless, perfect day.

Best bits of the Big Day...

Looking back Champagne, laughter and time together were the key ingredients for a dream wedding...

The ceremony itself was just so fun - all of us (Registrars and photographer included) were laughing continuously!

Wandering around The Grand with a glass of champagne and getting some pictures taken just the two of us was really enjoyable and a highlight of the day. The photographer Laura is so personable and makes you feel so comfortable, you don’t even know she’s taking your picture half the time.

I loved having champagne on the terrace and so many of the hotel guests went out of their way to come and say congratulations and toast us which felt really special.

Our top tip for wedding planning would be don’t over complicate things - don’t make your focus impressing your guests; make it about marrying the person you love. Oh and you've got to love a spreadsheet - it's the best way to keep track of what's been organised, and what's left to do and to keep on top of costs, it gives you peace of mind and makes you keep your spending in perspective!

A huge thank you to Suria & Paige for sharing their wedding with us as well In Between Days for the stunning photos -
