Your itinerary for a summer by the sea, without the crowds

There's no better way to experience the city by the sea than with a long glorious weekend in the sun.

Brighton and Hove is undoubtedly a popular summer destination city, but a late summer stay can still feel like an intimate seaside getaway if you know where to go.

With this in mind, we've spoken to our Concierge team to share with you our secrets to the coastal town of Brighton & Hove. Explore our full two night itinerary below of where to visit, what to eat and things to do during the day and night that will give you the best of summer by the sea without any of the crowds!

Day one

Afternoon After checking in, a mid-week or Friday afternoon is the perfect time to explore the iconically independent North Laine shops where you'll be able to take advantage of browsing boutiques without the weekend rush.

We’ll make sure you dine somewhere fabulous on your first evening in the city by the sea, and can help to reserve tables at your choice of restaurant in advance of your stay.

If you’re stuck for where to start we heartily recommend our in-room dining options, or a takeaway picnic which you can enjoy whilst watching the sunset on Brighton beach.

Hop on a vertical flight on the British Airways i360 Viewing Tower and watch the city transform from day to night over sunset.

Day two

Make the most of room service or wander down for breakfast anytime from 8am on Sundays, and 7am every other day of the week. It's best to get down early to beat the crowds!

Looking for something on the go? We’re a short walk from local seafront cafe, The Flour Pot Bakery, for artisan pastries and coffee to take out on your day of exploration.

Escape the crowds at the beach, and hop on a bus or travel by car to nearby Seven Sisters Country Park for a calm meander along the river valley which leads down to a gloriously spacious beach compared to the one in the city.

Fancy a proper hike? The infamous Beachy Head, known as the location setting for iconic films Quodrophenia and Brighton Rock, is just 10 minutes further down the coast, and gives way to stunning views of the south coast's white cliffs.

Enjoy an award-winning afternoon tea for lunch, available to pick up from The Grand Brighton before you leave the hotel.

Discover a new part of the city in Kemptown, known for being a Brighton hotspot for bars and nightlife. At the top of Kemptown hill you'll find Queens Park - a green and open space with a central pond that has a beautiful hill-top view of the sea. Before you reach the park, why not pick up a dinner en-route from vegan-friendly pizza parlour, Purezza, or Pizzaface - both now open for collection.

End the evening with some knock-out cocktails back at The Grand Brighton delivered straight to your bedroom or available to take out for a quiet night time stroll along the seafront.

Day three

Wake up, lie in and make the most of your hotel room before check out at 11am. You can leave your bags with us and pick them up anytime later in the day to make the most of an extended couple of days by the coast.

There you have it, a whole two nights and three day itinerary with all the secrets you need to skip the seaside crowds!
